Clint is finally home 🧡 and he brought back with him some of our treasured books that we left behind in Istanbul . (So many books, so little baggage allowance).
Sashin loves the Hilda series by Luke Pearson (Me too) and he is thrilled to read it again.
In this first Hilda book we meet adventurous blue haired Hilda, who lives in an idyllic mountainous wilderness with her mother and deerfox companion, Twig. We join Hilda as she meets new friends, the enigmatic Wood Man, learns about trolls, finds herself in a snow storm and almost being crushed by a lost giant. This book is all kinds of amazing and a work of art.
Hilda is a confident, independent, young explorer and heroine never far from an adventure.
I love that it teaches us an important moral lesson and that we should not take things at face value.
I love the Wood Man and cute little Twig who is a deerfox 🌟, the cutest whimsical creatures, you ever will see.
Also, the Hilda book series is a good introduction to getting your little ones to love comics, and I also love a book with a beautiful map in the beginning!
Our next Hilda adventure, is Hilda and the Midnight Giant. Cannot wait to share that with you.
Happy Reading
